AI for Business Analytics

Thursday, September 28, 1:15-1:55pm

Javits Center, 1A 12/14

Businesses have spent decades trying to make better decisions by analyzing structured data. New AI technologies like probabilistic programming and Bayesian nonparametrics are just beginning to transform this process. Richard Tibbetts explores AI that guides business analysts to ask statistically sensible questions and lets business professionals and junior data scientists answer in minutes questions that previously took hours for trained statisticians. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to use AI to answer questions about the probable implications of messy structured data via a combination of open source and commercial tools. This tutorial focuses on how to go beyond understanding your data to act based on data insights.

Exploratory Data Analysis with Generative Models

Thursday, July 13, 6:00-8:00PM

WeWork St. James

Non-parametric, generative Bayesian modeling allows us at Empirical Systems to fit hundreds of features at a time, making it possible for everyone to do rigorous statistical analysis even when data is expensive, sparse, or complex. During this talk, we’ll explore how our AI automates the analysis of tabular data, creates generative models, and offers probabilistic answers to ad hoc queries. Baseline statistical inference is provided by a scalable implementation of the open-source BayesDB architecture developed at MIT. Empirical Data Platform is currently in limited beta. Participation will be open to all meetup attendees.
